ARCHDOC - General Document Management System (1985)

Our information handling products in the ARCHDOC family (ARSYKON, ANUBIS, and AIS) provide extremely efficient and easy to use access to information elements (documents, graphs, images, sound and video) through a database system with proprietary full text retrieval capabilities - using the data compression methodology as a basis for end-to-end compressed data handling: requests, searches and transport of information over the LAN / WAN network to the client station take place with compressed data; this results in reduced storage requirements and secure data transport.

The Document Management System is based on networked work stations, optical disk handling, fast scanning, text and image data management software for all kinds of input sources in large and small organizations; full colour and black and white image documents are supported. Solutions for international clients have been implemented.

Advanced information handling and communication systems are inherent features in the products. Developments incorporating compression and data security are focusing on Internet based systems and closed user groups, Intranets:

  • on-line information and document handling systems
  • efficient full text retrieval
  • work flow systems
  • multi-media solutions.
DRS, our Document Recognition system creates abstracts of documents based on text files representing those documents. Fields included in the abstracts are Beginning and Ending Document Numbers, Number of Pages, Document Type, Date, Author, Recipient, and Subject. When used in a text retrieval database, the abstract data permit chronological sorting of retrieval results, columnar presentation of data on screen and in reports, field-limited searching and creation of summaries of the abstracted attributes for the document population, e.g., numbers of different types of documents, date range covered, etc. ICRA does provide image scanning, OCR, text retrieval or image viewing software as part of the basic DocID license.
